We are thrilled to share the second rebroadcast of the 2022 The Vignelli Center for Design Studies’ Design Conversations Lecture Series with Michael Maltzan, founder of his eponymous firm Michael Maltzan Architecture, Inc. in 1995. The Los Angeles-based architect’s projects span an array of typologies, from apartments for those experiencing homelessness in Skid Row to MoMA’s satellite location in Queens to the soon-to-be-completed Sixth Street Viaduct project in LA. Here, Maltzan shares how topics of politics, economics, equity, accessibility, and sustainability inform his design philosophy and the work he and his team create. Watch:
