This minimalist pool house with green roof is all about spring vibes
Sliding glass doors create a truly breezy space With spring just less than a month away, we?re itching for any sunshine fix we can get, which is why this delightful pool house by Dallas firm Wernerfield, masters of indoor-outdoor abodes, appeals to us on a visceral level.
Erected on a lush estate in Palmer, a town 28 miles south of Dallas, the so-called PTX1 Cabana functions as a very fancy outbuilding that incorporates a raised swimming pool and a cabana?and doubles as a secondary party pad.
Its simple silhouette of a flat, concrete roof atop what is essentially a glass rectangular volume echoes the clean lines of the main house without visually competing with it, just a few yards up the hill. Still, the pavilion is a hefty 1,372-square-foot presence whose walls of sliding glass doors open on all sides?one wing functions as a lounge and kitchen and the other as a mini gym?to create a truly breezy space. An extensive terrace offers options for poolside dining and relaxation, while the overhanging roof provides a bit of shade.
What?s more, the cabana?s rooftop is also a garden and is planted with native flora like sage and yucca, which add texture and greenery to the otherwise severe (but sunny) structure. It must also be nice to glimpse from the main house. Have a look.
