Sitting at the base of a rocky mountain slope, the home was designed by Prentiss Balance Wickline Architects as a holiday getaway spot for an outdoorsy pair and features midcentury modern influences and energy efficient design.
At 1,100 square feet, the long and slender Lot 6 Cabin comprises two distinct but connected ?bars,? one of which extends towards the slope and houses the common spaces, with the other stretching into a meadow holds the bedroom, bathroom, and flex room. The home employs passive solar technology to collect and distribute energy throughout the year, while an abundance of glass windows provide views of the surrounding landscape.
A unique indoor-outdoor fireplace is perhaps the centerpiece that brings the home together with the landscape, sitting in a living room which opens up to a semi-enclosed outdoor deck and is accessible from both sides. Meanwhile, dark concrete stem walls and a sloping, low-slung roof allow the home to blend seamlessly into the surrounding rocky terrain.

With an interior clad in sanded plywood and simple drywall, it manages to remain modest but comfortable in its furnishings, the perfect space when you just need to get (almost) off the grid for a bit.
