Sonos and Hay limited-edition colorful speakers finally releasing
The line goes on sale November 5 At Salone del Mobile in Milan earlier this year, Sonos debuted a limited edition collection of speakers created in collaboration with Hay, the Dutch design brand. The Sonos One smart speaker, which comes in black or white, has been reimagined in a new range of on-trend colors inspired by?and matching?Hay?s palette.
Born from a mutual commitment to designing contemporary products with an eye toward modern and clean-lined everyday living, the Hay for Sonos line ?explores the dimension of color? with five new hues: green, yellow, pink, red, and gray.
Tad Toulis, vice president of design at Sonos, expounded on its choice to partner with Hay: ?We found a partner with whom to explore the evolving role of sound as an architectural element in the home.? As for Mette Hay, the design company?s co-founder, Sonos was a natural choice for a collaborator:
We were intrigued by Sonos? philosophy of sound architecture, its approach to contemporary design and sophisticated manufacturing techniques. [...] These speakers deserve to be treated like furniture; strong, independent objects that can blend in or stand out ? functional accessories for any room that fit different needs and different spaces
The speakers will be priced at $229 a piece, $30 more than the regular black or white version. Equipped with Amazon?s Alexa, it will also support Apple?s AirPlay2. The line was initially slated to be released in September, but will now launch on November 5 on...
