Pixelating Hutong ? An installation to explore the fate of Hutong Beijing Design Week 2018, Baitasi Hutong District
For the second consecutive year, AaaM Architects is being invited by World Architecture Magazine (Curator of Baitasi Hutong District) for Beijing Design Week.
In response to the main theme ?Neighbourhood Warming Initiatives?, AaaM Architects focuses about ?life? issue of Hutong and conceives an installation that possibly connect past and future.
Architecture is no difference like human body, it metabolises over time. Baitasi Hutong is an aging space and its golden day has gone. AaaM Architects try to investigate the “life” of one’s space with an installation ( with mirror as the main material) constructed by reflecting contextual “colour” and ?texture?. With such atmposhere constructed in an abandoned Hutong space, the real/surreal spatial experience is trying to provoke visitor’s (re)thinking about the aging area of Baitasi and its unpredictable future.
