Knoll is the latest furniture brand to take advantage of the AR craze. The stalwart of modern furniture partnered with design software company Morpholio and AR visualization company Theia Interactive to bring its collection of high-design goods to Morpholio?s Board AR app. The new feature allows customers to envision how pieces like Mies van der Rohe?s Barcelona Chair or David Adjaye?s Washington Skeleton side chair will fit into their space. Like Ikea?s Place app, Board renders Knoll?s inventory as 3D objects that are overlaid onto existing rooms where you can shift, move, and spin the furniture into place. Morphio says it paid special attention to the image quality, rendering minute details of a piece so people can zoom in on a fabric or metal.
