AIA architect Richard Banta
AIA architect Richard Banta, designed this one-of-a-kind home in 1959 as his personal residence. The home is currently on the market in Los Angeles California. The house is fantastic sitting perched on the hillside supported by that red zig zag. The roof line is the “crown” of this house, no pun intended. The roofline not only creates architectural interest on the outside but the inside reaps more of a benefit creating interior volumes that are unique. I have to honestly say that I was a little disappointed on how this house was staged. Knock off furniture and some other “bold and fun” patterns dumbed the house down. I am also on the fence on what they did with the bathrooms. I also know tastes are personal and agree that “to each their own”.
