House of Fire Ruins: Ancient Anasazi Granaries
House of Fire ruins are the remains of the granaries built by the Ancestral Puebloan people who inhabited the Mule Canyon, Utah, between 700 and 2,500 years ago. They used the granaries to store corn, ricegrass, and other crops. The site took its name from the appearance of the rock surface. The patterns of the rock especially look like flames between 10 am and 11 am, reflecting the sunlight at a specific angle.
