Watch how Elon Musk is making the hyperloop a reality
The key to hyperloops success is tunnels What?s it going to take make high-speed hyperloop travel a reality" The ?boring? answer may surprise you.
Tunnels. Tunnels are what?s needed to fling a tube car from point A to point B?How else is it supposed to get there"
That?s where Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk comes in. He established the Boring Company in December 2016 to develop and produce technology and machinery to bore holes underground and build tunnels as quickly and cheaply as possible.
The Boring Company has already begun building a 2-mile-long tunnel in Hawthorne, California, from SpaceX?s Los Angeles headquarters toward LAX airport, which is essentially one long test tube lab. Companies like Hyperloop One have already completed a full-size hyperloop track test that reached speeds of up to 192 miles per hour. Musk?s own test track saw speeds of up to 220 mph.
But none of these accomplishments are worth much if there?s nowhere for the hyperloop to go. Watch the video above for more.
