walllasia reflects thailand’s beach in no sunset no sunshine pavilion

designed for the thailand biennale, krabi, 2018, the no sunset, no sunshine pavilion by award-winning firm walllasia is a life-specific temporary mirrored structure installed in the seaside near ao nang beach. envisioned by kamin lertchaiprasert and suriya umpansiriratana, this installation combines the contextualization of the physicality of the space and the spiritual aspects of life.

completely covered in mirrors, the no sunset, no sunshine pavilion by walllasia can be found in a hidden cliff, where locals and tourists can find a peaceful retreat from the hectic resort town. inside, a sculpture of yai sa ? an old woman who patiently awaits for her partner who left home to find the ultimate truth ? acts as a symbol of love and waiting.

?this project is life-specific, it represents the parallel world between the ultimate truth world and illusional world,? comment the architects on their webpage. ?it is also there to create awareness of the condition of a timeless moment that is not self-attached. that is the connection between inner and outer space (subjective and objective), you and me.?
