Viru Keskus Design Competition in Tallinn
Viru Keskus is one of Estonia’s leading shopping centres located in the city centre of Tallinn and is currently undergoing the process of renewal.
The Estonian Association of Interior Architects are about to launch a contest for the interior design concept of the shopping centre that should keep the centre going for the next coming 10 years. The winning entry is expected to act as a basis for further design, which will be implemented most probably 2021-2024.

There are altogether 109 different shops on the 26 800m2 rental area of Shopping Centre; Viru Centre is the market leader among the shopping centres in Estonia with approximately 16 million visitors per annum, and the most efficient shopping centre in the Baltic States and Nordic Countries.
The contest will be with pre-selection – based on the submitted portfolios up to 6 (interior) architectural offices will be invited to participate.
Each participant elected will get 5000? and the winner will get extra 5000?. Winner of the competition should find a local partner (in case the participant is not local, in collaboration with client) in order to finish the project and get all necessary permits from lo...
