Tiny shelters, strange and amusing, pop up in Amsterdam
And they?re for rent! Tiny home lovers looking for something a bit out of the box can look to UrbanCampsite Amsterdam, a series of micro shelters that takes over an underused part of the city every other year. The 2015 edition saw the likes of a ?Bedbug? dwelling complete with legs and a tent with a trampoline for a roof. This year?s crop of inhabitable art, popping up in Amsterdam?s Science Park, is just as kooky.
This year?s theme, ?The Art of Tech-Living??that is, the art of ?future life and living??gave rise to 13 striking little abodes, including a lighter (and pinker) take on climate change and campers fashioned from a ?70s Dutch electric car, sewer tube, and wheeled waste container. Each dwelling can be booked on Airbnb through August, with prices ranging from ?85-140 per night.
