And it?s beautiful The Wing has a new home: A 19th-century historic landmark renovated into a sophisticated corporate headquarters. Designed in-house, the office is outfitted with the Wing?s signature pastel colors, custom furniture, punchy environmental graphics, and woman-centric features. The entire building is a calling card for how the brand is rethinking workspaces for the 21st century.

The Wing opened its first coworking space, in New York City?s Flatiron district, in 2016. Since then, it?s expanded to eight locations in five cities; it?s received over $117 million in funding; and it?s soon to expand overseas. Just as its empire of coworking spaces was expanding, so too was its staff, from four people at the start to over 150 today?and its offices were bursting at the seams. In January, the company began renovating a 22,000-square-foot former hospital in New York City?s East Village neighborhood in order to move all of its employees under one roof. (Before the move they were spread between several locations.) The 1854 terra-cotta-clad building was originally constructed to care for German immigrants who fell ill. In the 1880s, the building was expanded with a wing dedicated to caring for women.
