The Technique of Preventing Disasters on Sloppy Terrain – Soil Nailing
The process of soil nailing is a construction technique that is used for earth reinforcement. Those nails are used as a remedial measure for the natural slopes or to prevent the over-steepening of new or existing slopes. These soil nails are usually installed by a top-down procedure like anchors and are typically grouted into place. Usually, the soil provides both the activating and resisting stresses, and the structural members provide a load transfer mechanism.Â
The pressure of the earth is acting on the wall and it will increase as the soil behind the wall deforms towards the excavation. More, on the link bellow.
