The Smith House
The Smith House by Craig Ellwood and carefully restored by Jim Tyler hits the market. I absolutely love the glass box held up by supports, I can only imagine what it would look like at night. I don’t know the extent of the renovation but Jim Tyler deserves top merits as the house is perfect. The materials used look true and honest and don’t look or feel out of place. The carports on either side creating the “T” is quite unique, almost looks like a duplex. “Periodically there comes to light a building that – whatever it?s other merits – seizes the attention by the way it exemplifies or dramatizes some aspect of modern architecture. Such a structure is the hillside house in California by Craig Ellwood.? -Architectural Review
