The James Bradley Elevates New Jersey’s Coastal Charm
As someone who is proud to have grown up in New Jersey, the collective groans heard while exclaiming my upbringing is one step closer to being put to rest as the Jersey Shore welcomes its latest gem, The James Bradley, marking a significant addition to this burgeoning beachside community. Nestled along the Atlantic coast on Bradley Beach, the boutique hotel underwent a meticulous restoration, transforming the 118-year-old property into a 17-room sanctuary.
The brainchild of owner George DiStefano and Manhattan-based interior designer Sebastian Zuchowicki, The James Bradley represents both individuals’ inaugural foray into the hotel sector. Together, they have reimagined the conventional bed and breakfast concept, infusing the property with a blend of local charm and international sophistication.
In explaining the design, DiStefano says: “I wanted to create an experience that captured the essence of the Jersey Shore, while integrating a timeless and minimalistic design to show the concept that casual living can still feel elegant. Having grown up on the Jersey Shore, my summers were spent at the beach. When I first saw the property, formerly ‘The Sandcastle Inn,’ in May of 2021, I had an inexplicable feeling that I could make it something special. A year later, it became a reality that exceeded my expectations and I could not be more excited.?
