A further £295,000 of funding for The Winchester Cricket Pavilion Project has been approved!
This grant of additional funding follows the unanimous approval by councillors at Thursday night?s Town Forum in Winchester.
The Pavilion Project is a not-for-profit, community-led organisation, set up by a group of local residents. The organisation approached local award winning architects, AR Design Studio, with the brief to design a replacement for the existing, dilapidated Cricket Pavilion and Scoring Huts at the North Walls Recreation Ground in Winchester. Having not only accomplished a large range of residential projects both locally in Winchester and internationally, AR has a history of successful community-led projects and public design work. Client and community input are an integral part of the AR design process, and have long ensured successful and collaborative design. This process led to securing planning approval for The Pavilion Project in 2018. The Pavilion Project organisation has since consistently campaigned for public funding to construct the project.
