Steal This Look: Sonoran-Style Bedroom/Living Room in Tucson, Arizona
From Cade Manning Hayes and Jesús Edmundo Robles Jr. of Tucson, Arizona?based architecture firm Dust, the Tucson Mountain Retreat is an extension of the Sonoran desert. Built of rammed earth, charred wood, and Spanish cedar, the structure is reminiscent of Amangiri, the modern resort in Utah. The interior is decorated with African art, vintage Navajo textiles, and the work of local artists. Says Hayes of the design: ?We thought of it as a vessel in which to experience the desert flora, fauna, and light.? Here?s a look at the interiors, with sourcing ideas straight from the architects (and a few of our own to match).
