Stadium Lofts: Former Baseball Stadium Turned Into Apartments
Stadium Lofts is an apartment complex in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA built over the baseball ballpark formerly Bush Stadium, with a ballfield in the courtyard. Opening in 1931 as Perry Stadium, the stadium played a vital role in both segregated and integrated baseball throughout the years. Teams such as the ABC?s, American Giants, Athletics, Crawfords, Indianapolis Clowns, and Indianapolis Indians all utilized the field. 65 years after its construction, it was left rotting and abandoned by 1996 as the Indianapolis Indians baseball team moved home. The property closed and the stadium fell into disrepair, with no apparent future, and years of decay ensued.
