Sonos and Hay release limited collection of colorful speakers
Debuting at Salone in Milan this week, with a release in September Making its debut at Salone del Mobile in Milan is a limited edition collection of Sonos speakers created in collaboration with Hay, the Dutch design brand. The Sonos One smart speaker, which comes in black or white, has been reimagined in a new range of on-trend colors inspired by?and matching?Hay?s palette.
Borne from a mutual commitment to designing contemporary products with an eye toward modern and clean-lined living that also inspire everyday life, the Hay for Sonos line ?explores the dimension of color? by releasing three new versions: in a forest green, pale yellow, and an orangey red.
Tad Toulis, vice president of design at Sonos, expounded on its choice to partner with Hay: ?We found a partner with whom to explore the evolving role of sound as an architectural element in the home.? As for Mette Hay, the design company?s co-founder, Sonos was a natural choice for a collaborator:
We were intrigued by Sonos? philosophy of sound architecture, its approach to contemporary design and sophisticated manufacturing techniques. [...] These speakers deserve to be treated like furniture; strong, independent objects that can blend in or stand out ? functional accessories for any room that fit different needs and different spaces
Hay for Sonos will be released in September and will be priced at $229. Equipped with Amazon?s Alexa, it will also support Apple?s AirPlay2 upon the latter?s launch. For now, here...
