Kapsimalis Architects transformed an old compound?a donkey barn, walled courtyards, and three storage caves?into two fresh holiday homes that make us wish we were on vacation right this moment.
The two houses retain the rustic charm of Santorini?s caves while adding a contemporary gloss. ?The outer shell of both houses, bright and white, is preserved as it was, in a way that is integrated with its surroundings and the cubistic, traditional architecture of the village,? the architects told Dezeen.

Both residences have a walled courtyard entrance with their own sparkling blue pool. Inside, the two-bedroom homes embrace the best of Greek architecture?vaulted ceilings, satisfying curves, arched doorways, and plenty of warm off-white plaster.
As for the details, the designers added geometric accents like shiny circular sconces, dangling pendant lights, and minimalist furniture that bring a modern touch to the earthy serenity of the whole place.
