Rustic luxury on offer at latest Soho House outpost, a converted farmhouse



It?s the latest from the tony members-only club A jaunt to the English countryside that includes an extended stay in a series of cabins is now within reach?at least for members of the exclusive Soho House network of boutique hotels, which includes outposts in New York, Malibu, and 15 additional clubs worldwide. Sadly, if you?re not a member you?ll have to rectify that before decamping to one of the Soho House & Co. group?s locations, but gawking is free.
There?s much at which to gawk indeed at this latest English venue, dubbed the Soho Farmhouse, and that alights on 100 acres in the Oxfordshire county town of Great Tew (on land that, Dezeen notes, is near the home of Soho House founder Nick Jones). Comprising, according to the official website, 40 cabins, a seven-bedroom main homestead, and a four-bedroom "cottage," the property was overhauled with the help of designers at British firm and frequent Soho House collaborator Michaelis Boyd. On the whole, the property mixes modern and traditional-English-country-house vibes?reclaimed wood and exposed masonry abound. It helps that several structures original to the site survive, including a water-mill-turned-pub renovated and converted by Michaelis Boyd?s staff. The amenities don?t end there: Indoor and outdoor pools are on offer, in addition to "restaurants, cinemas, workspaces, spas" and more.
