When we think of the architecture of Savannah, Georgia, we usually envision regal homes in historic styles like Federal, Victorian Regency, Greek and Gothic Revival, and Italianate. So spotting this midcentury modern house (located in the suburban neighborhood of Magnolia Park) was a pleasant surprise.
Built in 1955 by architect-builder John Ahern, who was inspired by the work of Joseph Eichler, the 2,200-square-foot residence has been well maintained and carefully restored over the years?even winning a couple of awards including the Historic Savannah Foundation President?s Award.
