Rent a daring modern cave house in Spain
The house was built right into the limestone outcropping on its site The primitive appeal of cave and stone dwellings is undeniable?and they?re very on trend right now.
Last month, we wrote about an off-grid cliff house up for auction in southeastern Utah, and now comes word?and photos?of this 90-square-meter (a little shy of 970 square feet) dwelling in southern Spain?s Cordoba province.
Designed by Spanish firm Ummo Estudio as a rental retreat, the house was built directly into a craggy limestone outcropping on the site of a former quarry and farm that the house?s website notes may date back to the city?s Roman era. The interiors of the solar-powered dwelling are likely more luxurious than you?d expect: There house comes with a washing machine, and a small terrace for kicking back outside. Exposed-limestone walls and polished concrete floors lend the whole thing the air of a haute cave dwelling?and that?s exactly its appeal. Take a look.
