Last month, we wrote about an off-grid cliff house up for auction in southeastern Utah, and now comes word?and photos?of this 90-square-meter (a little shy of 970 square feet) dwelling in southern Spain?s Cordoba province.
Designed by Spanish firm Ummo Estudio as a rental retreat, the house was built directly into a craggy limestone outcropping on the site of a former quarry and farm that the house?s website notes may date back to the city?s Roman era. The interiors of the solar-powered dwelling are likely more luxurious than you?d expect: There house comes with a washing machine, and a small terrace for kicking back outside. Exposed-limestone walls and polished concrete floors lend the whole thing the air of a haute cave dwelling?and that?s exactly its appeal. Take a look.
