Red stucco home is a warm vacation oasis
The compact house packs plenty of charm Mexican studio Taller de Arquitectura Contextual designed this red stucco home as a gorgeous oasis in the middle of the remote southeastern Mexico landscape. Built as a vacation home for a young couple, the 451-square-foot house is tucked into a corner on an expansive 2.5-acre lot.
Because of the rocky terrain and curious wildlife, the compact house sits on a raised platform, which also gave the residents a perfect canvas for installing a built-in swimming pool.

The interior features double-height ceilings in the main living spaces, where the kitchen, dining area, and living room open out onto a terrace. A stone staircase leads to the mezzanine bedroom, whose warm, neutral colors glow from the sun that enters through the wooden window shutters.
Naturally, the house is custom-built to take advantage of the area?s enviable climate, with large windows that open wide and an outdoor shower.
