Rare pieces from Le Corbusier, Jean Prouvé, and more go up for auction

Co-founding partner, along with the late Peter Shelton, of the award-winning, New York-based architecture and design firm Shelton Mindel & Associates, Mindel began collecting pieces over thirty years ago and has since amassed quite a treasure trove for his aerie in a former hat factory in Manhattan.
Now, that, too, is up for sale, as the architect plans on moving downtown to the Herzog & de Meuron-designed Jenga-shaped building at 56 Leonard Street?with new acquisitions in tow. For those with elevated taste (and serious money to burn), that means being able to outfit a home with a colorful totem and bookshelf by Ettore Sottsass (estimated at $15,000 and $6,000, respectively), or a gorgeous oak table by Jean Prouvé ($50,000 estimate).

An architectural pencil and pastel drawing by none other than Le Corbusier would make a lovely bedside frame ($8,000 estimate) and could be admired by sitting atop an apple box stool, also by Le Corbu, which comes from a "chambre d?étudiant" from his Maison du Brésil at Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris ($25,000 estimate).
