Picture of the Day: The Inside of the Leaning Tower of Pisa
Photograph via Luca Aless
Seen here is an interior shot of the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy. While I didn’t have any particular expectation of what the inside would look like, it’s emptier than I thought!
For those interested, the height of the tower is 55.86 metres (183.27 feet) from the ground on the low side and 56.67 metres (185.93 feet) on the high side. Construction of the tower occurred in three stages over 199 years from 1173 to 1372. [source]
