Porto, Portugal

The beautiful city of Porto is full of stunning art nouveau architecture. Some of them are quite understated, and at the other end of the scale you have examples like this will scream for attention. In the middle of a fairly busy retail-oriented street, Rua de Janeiro, this façade displays a kind of gothic version of art nouveau. I don’t know many details about the building, but I guess you don’t need to know about the architect in order to appreciate their work
