The  orientation in the construction and architecture refers to solar orientation that is done while planning of the house with huge respect to sun path. This means having in mind the sun path while constructing walls and especially location of the windows so they’ll receive as much as sunlight as possible. This is the case with buildings in cold climate and totally opposite in hot climate conditions.  The schemes bellow are showing examples how this is calculated and used in the construction process.
