organic lines and undulating hills form CROX’s liyang museum in china
on the banks of yan lake park in china?s liyang city lies a sinuously-shaped architectural intervention realized by CROX. inspired by a chinese instrument called jiaoweiqin, the organic lines of the recently completed museum are designed to create a dialogue between the urban context and the adjacent park.
Â
Â
access to the museum is gained from the bottom of the hills. designed to feel natural and welcoming, this curved entrance is connected to a large plaza on the south-west facing elevation. this public space functions to bring people into the central courtyard on the ground floor of the building while also providing a vibrant area for local residents to meet and gather.
