Not Just a Façade: Holbrook?s New Copper-Clad School Really is This Stunning
To improve and update its existing schools, the town of Holbrook, Massachusetts, developed and erected a new 217,000 square foot preK-12 school to replace three aging buildings. The design team selected a dynamic, timeless material for the exterior of the structure that is both engaging to students and beautiful to all who passersby.

The building?s exterior has a distinct green and blue color that can only be associated with copper. The copper wall panel system is comprised of over 11,500 interlocking 18-24 ounce pre-patina copper panels cut to cover 33,000 square feet of the building?s envelope. The entire front curve of the building, almost half the entire exterior surface, is now a beautiful ? and durable?copper façade.

Even though the new Holbrook preK-12 school building was constructed for practical reasons, it also serves as the perfect backdrop for the new public park that will be created right in front of the building.

Copper was the material of choice to cover Holbrook?s newest building for its durability and unique appearance. The material?s timeless quality represents the most important new building in the Town of Holbrook.
