Muji?s first hotel will open in China in January

Yes, expect lots of Muji goods inside Editor's Note: This post was originally published in July 2017 and has been updated with the most recent information.
You better sit down for this, minimal Japanese home goods fans. Your favorite store, Muji, is opening a hotel in Tokyo?s Ginza district, slated for completion in Spring 2019, Spoon & Tamago reports. The 10-story planned development will dedicate the first six floors to a Muji flagship store, while floors seven through 10 (and a portion of floor six) will house the new Muji hotel.
But as it turns out, the Ginza development won?t even be the first Muji hotel. Earlier this year, Muji announced that it will first open a Muji Hotel in Shenzhen, China, followed by a second location in Beijing, China. And now both of the China projects have opening dates: the Shenzhen location will open on January 18, 2018, and the Beijing location will open on March 20, 2018. Muji Hotel Shenzhen will have 79 rooms finished with recycled wood and outfitted with Muji furniture and accessories. The mini model below offers a sneak peek of what to expect inside. It?ll be like waking up in Muji heaven, basically.
