Vacation ready A treehouse can take many forms?high and nest-like, low and horizontal, large and lavish, or a little like a hobbit?s home.
This treehouse designed by Antony Gibbon skews simple and modern, with an angular frame and classic cedar siding. The home sits on stilts in the middle of a forest outside of Woodstock, New York, which gives it the illusion of ?floating out of the side of the hill,? as Gibbon described it to Dezeen.

Built around a steel frame, the house has an asymmetrical shape that distinguishes it from its natural surroundings. It?s centered around an open plan living room and a breezy kitchen with a concrete bar that acts as the main dining space.

A second-floor loft overlooks the living room, which imbues the contemporary treehouse with some classic A-frame cabin DNA. The centerpiece of Gibbon?s design is a large window that looks out onto a pond and the rolling Catskill Mountains like a picture frame. For a different view, the owners can walk down a few steps to a lower deck where a hot tub is tucked into the woods.
