Modern home offers understated indoor-outdoor living
Clean, modest, and totally enviable Luxury can take many forms. For some people, it?s opulent marble and wide city views. For others, it can be quiet, understated, and relatively low-budget, like this new home from Brazilian architecture studio Equipe Lamas.

The Itaipu House is a low-profile stunner built on a budget of around $189,000. Its simple, open layout centers around the kitchen and dining room where large sliding doors open the dining table to the outdoors. The living room gets the same sliding door treatment, effectively merging the patio with the interior.

The architects designed the home with a soothing neutral palette that starts on the outside with a light gray resin facade and steel roof. Inside, the house has polished concrete floors, gray granite countertops, and white walls.

Like other modern Brazilian designs, the house smartly plays with the idea of indoor-outdoor living. Circular recessed lights dot the plywood ceiling inside the house and on the patio, which makes the backyard feel like an extension of the living room.
