mode:lina combines tradition with modernity for holiday resort in poland
fusing local traditional architecture with modernity, mode:lina has designed the interior of camppinus park in the polish seaside town of jezierzany. as part of a holiday resort surrounded by trees and situated by wicko lake, the project aims to celebrate the natural scenery to create a quiet, tranquil space ideal for relaxation.

to combine notions of tradition with the contemporary intervention, the design of camppinus park makes reference to the shape of the existing stable type building located close to the resort?s entrance, in addition to the japanese ?shou sugi ban? wood burning technique. meanwhile, modernity can be seen in the carefully designed functional interiors by mode:lina and ever-present technological innovations.

the interior concept derives directly from the architecture?s character. inside of the buildings with black façades, the designers placed smaller, distinctive black houses which contain a kitchen, a bathroom and wardrobes. this allows for a visual division of the houses into functional areas. a visible wooden construction, in a natural pine color, forms a living room with a large glass façade; while surrounding the black house with grey concrete tiles, which resemble typical hexagon pavers, helps to distinguish passageways and the dining area.
