Midcentury Fire Island Pines house by Andrew Geller hits market for $1.29M
The price has been chopped nearly $200K We first wrote about this Andrew Geller-designed, ziggurat-shaped pad in New York?s Fire Island Pines, the 1961 Frank House, back in May 2015, when it was on the market for $1.4 million. Now, that price has been chopped?if modestly?to just shy of $1.3 million ($1,299,000 to be precise).
This is good news for modernism fans with change to spare. Though the three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath Frank House was once infamous for its use in a (well-reviewed) ?70s soft-core adult film called ?Boys in the Sand,? it?s got a lot more than ?ahem?blue cinematic history on its side: The interiors?light-filled and lined in knotty wood, with sweeping views to the surrounding landscape through broad, double-height windows?are eye-popping. Beyond the killer ocean views, amenities include a heated pool, outdoor shower, rooftop deck, central air conditioning, and a gas grill. The listing also notes that the house has been winterized for use year-round. Take a look.
