Mid Century Australia by Robin Boyd
Mid Century Australia goes synonymously with Architect Robin Boyd. This home is currently on the market and is rather unique. There are three separate buildings on 35 acres. The construction of the home has strong ties to the land. Visually it looks like it was made from local sourced materials. The cairn, thatched ceilings are intriguing as I don’t think I have ever seen ceilings like this in a MCM home.
“The buildings and their surrounds are considered of the highest and utmost importance to the State of Victoria and its cultural and architectural heritage by the Heritage Council. The Boyd Baker House site is surrounded by nearly 200 acres of additional bushland which was donated to the State of Victoria by Dr Michael Baker in 1991.”
