This Mar Vista site had an outdated 1200sq ft house on it, which was torn down and replaced with a state-of-the-art 11 module, 2900sf home ? a great example of what the Connect Homes’ prefab system can do. A carport/office structure placed at the front of the lot breaks down the project?s scale, with the main two-story volume of the house pushed towards the rear of the lot. Everything opens out onto a central courtyard, showing an innovative approach to more densely occupying Los Angeles lots, providing multiple outdoor space experiences. The house is Net Zero Enabled and has many green features such as greywater systems and a house-wide ERV (Energy Recovery Ventilator). Connect Homes was founded by architects committed to changing both the prefab and housing industries. The results are beautiful, modern green homes at a fraction of the time and cost of custom site-built construction.
