Magazine-ready A-frame in Big Bear asks $475K
A vacation home with Scandinavian-inspired style Oh, A-frames, let us count the ways we love thee. An architectural icon from 1950 to about 1975, the humble A-frame is a beloved vacation home?a triangle design built for lounging around decks and cozy fires. But over the past few years, the A-frame has been reworked for our modern sensibilities, clad in chic throws and beautiful furniture.
The latest renovated A-frame to catch our eye is this two-bedroom, two-bath Scandinavian-inspired stunner located in Big Bear, California. Modestly sized at 1,216 square feet, the 1971 home was reimagined by Newport Beach-based Prairie Home Styling, an interior design and staging company. Warm woods contrast with white floors, and the steep 28-foot ceilings are a trademark of an A-frame. The bedrooms and bathrooms are located on the main floor, as are the kitchen and living room with top-to-bottom windows.
Like most A-frames, the upper area is a loft, outfitted with two twin beds, a walkout deck, and a secondary living room with a wood-burning fireplace. Outside, a 180-degree deck offers ample space for summer cookouts and views of the mature pine trees in Big Bear?s Fox Farms community.
It?s a whole new take on a classic. 380 Santa Clara Boulevard is being offered fully furnished for $475,000.
