Light-filled 1975 house with pool asks $429K

Designed by architect and author Norton Juster Located in Lanesboro, Massachusetts, this four-bedroom, two-bath home was built in 1975 and designed by architect Norton Juster. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Juster worked as an architect in New York and eventually Western Massachusetts, teaching architecture and planning at Pratt Institute in New York; he was also a Professor of Design at Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts, from 1970-1992.

Beyond these accomplishments, Juster is most famous for writing an award-winning and now classic children?s book called The Phantom Tollbooth. Juster called the book his ?accidental masterpiece,? viewing writing as a refreshing outlet from his architecture practice.
Whether or not you?ve read his famous children?s book, Juster?s architecture skills are on display with this 2,705-square-foot house set on 15.7 acres. The light-filled house takes advantage of mountain views from every room thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows. A vaulted living area and large wooden beams define the open floor plan, while a reading nook with brick wood burning fireplace adds coziness. A second-floor lofted master suite boasts a wood burning fireplace, walk-in closet, outdoor balcony, and sauna, and the walkout lower level completes the sleeping quarters. Outside, a heated salt water pool, hot tub, and patio with gas fireplace makes outdoor entertaining a breeze.
Love what you see" 48 Victoria Lane is on the market now for $429,000.
