LANG architects nests ‘splinter creek’ cabins among forests of mississippi
new york city-based studio LANG architecture nestles twenty six lakeside homesites among the forested hills of north mississippi. entitled ?splinter creek,? the development integrates seamlessly into 650 acres of rolling pine forest. splinter creek offers private cabin retreats, sited on plots ranging from two to eighteen acres each with its own distinctive character. beneath the canopies of mature oaks and plantation pines, this ready-to-build land is primed for environmentally sensitive and sustainable residential developments.

each homesite comprising the splinter creek development is designed by LANG architecture to blend into and become a part of the natural surroundings. the architectural style is expressive of a simple and informal timber frame structure clad in wooden siding ? inspired by farm buildings ? natural light, and other characteristics mindful of the context. down to the smallest details, the design intent for splinter creek cabins was to foster a life closer to nature.
