john lautner?s iconic 1961 wolff residence in los angeles is now for sale at an asking price of $ 6,500,000. one of the visionary american architect?s personal favorite five, the midcentury masterpiece was commissioned by marco wolff, an interior designer who asked for a building similar to frank lloyd wright?s fallingwater house. lautner, a taliesin fellow and former f.l.w. employee, designed the whole house as a waterfall step, which follows the hillside slope in a series of cascading rectangles.
