Influence Lines Work toward the Beams
Statically determination of the beams is possible by influence lines. The video bellow is explaining the influence line of the particular moment considering the case of statically determinate beams. They are great tool to determine the internal force in a structure for moving load. This way a bridge is shown having a mid-span denoted by point G. In order to get maximum positive and negative moment both quantitative and qualitative methods are presented.
The qualitative method is quick and helps in seeing how the influence line will work. The quantitative method is more rigorous and it is giving the exact results of the work.
