Architects: BAAG atelier
Location: Pessegueiro Island, Portugal
Infinity Chapel represents the research to design a space that is at the same time introspective, silent and contemplative of nature.
Pessegueiro Island becomes the ideal place for its innate vocation of reflective and meditative space.
A pure white ribbon grows from the ground, it defines a first space that interacts with the surrounding area, and then it continues to grow towards the sky to defining a closed space, of recollection and introspection. You can find your own dimension by walking on the island, but also in this built space, so that the ribbon gives us a sense of protection, or looking for your “ego” inside the chapel, in a place isolated from the outside world, but that absorbs the tranquility, the softness and the serenity that the island give.
Looking for the ?infinite? inside us, this is the sense of Infinity Chapel.
