Good luck turning off your phone in this theater Movie theaters, in theory, are supposed to fade into the background in service of the film that?s playing on screen. But this new cinema in Berlin does just the opposite. The New Delphi Lux Cinema has seven theaters, and every single one looks like it?s the lovechild of Dan Flavin and James Turrell.

Berlin studios Batek Architeckten and Ester Bruzkus Architeckten designed the theaters as individual pieces of art. The visual feast begins in the lobby, where a pale pink bench stretches around the space in an Art Deco-esque curve.

All of the rooms adhere to a color palette (deep red, petrol blue, pickle green, etc.) with chairs, walls, and ceilings swathed in monochromatic materials.

Each room has its own lighting installation?fluorescent tubes cut across the walls and ceilings in patterns and shapes that echo the theater?s theme. It?s a fun gesture that turns the pre-movie wait into an Instagram photoshoot.
