Ikea speakers are here
The Bluetooh-enabled Eneby line is currently available in select stores in the U.S. Earlier this year, Ikea teased a line of party-read portable speakers and lights as part of a collaboration with Swedish music tech company Teenage Engineering, but customers had to wait until 2019 for the launch. There was even word of a Sonos-Ikea partnership whose aim is ?to democratize music and sound in the home.?
But now, folks can get their hands on a speaker made exclusively by the Scandinavian furniture giant starting this month. Called Eneby, the Bluetooth-enabled speakers are shaped like a flat box with a single nob and an optional handle. It comes in two sizes?8 by 8 inches and 12 by 12 inches?and can be wall-mounted, placed on a stand, or simply on a flat surface. They were also designed to fit within Ikea?s Kallax and Eket storage systems. The speakers are covered by a gray or black piece of fabric and come in a white plastic and a black plastic body. Currently available in certain stores across the U.S. (and in the U.K.), Eneby starts at $49 for the smaller size and $89 for the larger, with a battery pack costing $20. Take a look.
