Designed by Philip Goodwin, one of the architects of New York City?s Museum of Modern Art Historic homes are always more fun with a dash of glamor, and today?s listing has elegance to spare. The four-bedroom, six-bath home is located in French City Village, one of seven historic themed villages in Coral Gables, Florida. Now a registered historic landmark, the home was built in 1925 by George Merrick, the planner of Coral Gables, and designed by architect Philip L. Goodwin?the architect of New York City?s Museum of Modern Art. Known for his Beaux Arts style, Goodwin designed half of the homes in the French City Village, while architect Mott B. Schmidt was responsible for the others.

Measuring 5,716 square feet, the neoclassical building boasts a distinguished former owners list, including Florida Governor LeRoy Collins. Guests are welcomed through a front door that features 125-year-old reclaimed black and white Spanish marble, and the chandelier-filled formal sitting rooms feature original pine floors and solid wood doors. Each bedroom has its own private balcony, and other perks include reclaimed French limestone floors and a master with a separate dressing area. A careful restoration in 2000 preserved these historic features while providing for modern updates.
