Historic estate where ?Great British Bake Off? was filmed wants $6.7M



Harptree Court is located in North Somerset, England Fans of The Great British Bake Off (known as The Great British Baking show in the U.S.) might recognize this historic Georgian estate for sale in North Somerset, England.
The nine-bedroom manse is set on over 51 acres, on which seasons three and four of the smash-hit reality cooking show were shot. Not a bad setting to get your biscuits just right!

Still, beyond the entertainment pedigree, the property boasts a storied past?not to mention grand architecture. Known as Harptree Court and owned by the same family for over 100 years, the nine-bedroom country house was built in 1797 by Charles Harcourt Masters of Bath for Joshua Crope, according to Country Life magazine. After a few more change-of-hands, the estate was sold in 1920 to Charles Hill, whose grandchild is the present owner.
But moving on to the house itself. In addition to the nine bedrooms are six exquisitely appointed reception rooms including a drawing room, dining room, billiards room, morning room, and sitting room, seven bathrooms, and so much more, all featuring lovely period details like pedimented doorways and window casements, molded cornices, and two semi-circular bays on the facade facing the garden.
