Hidden Stone House in San Juan Island
La Pierre, French name for “the stone” is a design house in San Juan, United States, conceived by Olson Kundig. The concept was to integrate this construction into a natural environment by exploiting already existing materials. The construction is harmoniously constructed in the middle of rocks, grass and trees, until it comes almost a mimetic bunker. Inside, the atmosphere is warm even if sometimes a little austere. Some kitsch elements enrich the decoration in always pertinent way. A green project absolutely modern.
