Guildford Bell and His Miesian Masterpiece

Guildford Bell design this home in 1972, one of the architects most significant homes. The Seccull house, named after its original owner and builder Bill Seccull, has been beautifully restored and updated by the owners, working closely with architect Graham Fisher, Bell’s former business partner. Right out of the gate I was very drawn to this house. My dream house would closely resemble this layout. A “U” shape house with a central courtyard all being on a single level. I love the strictness and repetitive manner in which the home was designed. As a personal preference I would have to of built in a level of warmth provided by a singular rosewood or walnut wall. From their you could add warmth through furnishings.
